TBF Payet had tried the direct corner/frre kick to Carrolls bonce several times but Manc were ready for it.
I don't blame him for trying something different, it was just the shit way it was executed, not even on target!

OBVIOUSLY you attempt a 1 in 1000 chance of scoring shot rather than putting it on Carroll's/Tomkins's/Ogbonna's/Kouyate's etc head.

Wrong option which summed up the night.
We took a few wildly ambitious shots from long range when we had the option to spread it wide and build up the pressure.
Lack of patience and composure. Probably borne of the fact that our passing was poor and the players weren't trusting each other to keep the ball.
Is a game that Bilic has to examine closely.
It was an average Man Utd side yet they retained the ball under no pressure with Blind, Carrick and Fellaini and then found spaces wide and in front of us. That is unacceptable and hints at a wrong structure and players not doing their jobs.

we saw this corner a number of times with Man U, a Beckham cross to Scholes hitting the volley

Don't know if it's Nobes or Dimi's call... but one thing if it was Dimi's call you would think that Nobes being skipper would say Don't be such a fucking idiot... it's the last min of the game... just get it in that 6 yard box... was one of the strangest things I have ever seen... work with a Scouser and tat was the first thing he said... what the fuck was that corner about??

That really annoyed me.
Fine if it comes off, which will happen once if they do it fifty times, but that was absolutely NOT the time for it. Everyone bar Noble and Payet was in the box, we've got some big players who are good in the air, Man Utd were panicking.... and we try that shit.
I was annoyed with Payet for passing to Noble, but I thought Noble might control it and hoist it into the box - but no.
Stupid to do in the last minute.

That corner isn't what lost us the tie. More the fact the whole team didn't turn up (Barring Randolph) in what was probably the clubs biggest game since our return to the premier league.
